Cologne, [Walther Fabritius], 1570 One volume in-8°, full tan morocco, historiated decoration stamped in cold on the boards, ribbed spine (19th-century binding reusing the old boards). Richly illustrated children's lectionary edited by Georg Aemilius (alias Aemylius or Emilius, 1517-1569), a pupil of Melanchthon and Lutheran theologian. Decorated with numerous woodcuts in the text, the Latin text is printed in single columns in italic type, with occasional marginal notes in Greek and four historiated initials. First published in 1549, this text was extremely popular in its day, with at least nine different editions up to 1579, but all editions are rare today, and this one is particularly hard to find.
