GULIMAT IN DIJON Mantel clock with calendar and hour chime Mantel clock with calendar and striking mechanism signed "Gulimat à Dijon". Clock with two movements one above the other contained in a brass cage glazed on the sides and back, molded quartz base and head. Gilded brass dial surrounds engraved with foliate friezes. Upper main dial with white enamel minute track, black painted hour markers, off-centered hour dial, black painted Roman numeral markers, hollowed apple hands, visible escapement. Bottom second dial with triple calendar, months by hand on white enamel disc, days and date by hands in sub-counters, moon phase by aperture. On the back, steel stem balance with flattened lens and suspension, visible gong. Movement non-functional at time of appraisal, escapement wheel jammed, some slight flaws and marks on the enamel, some cracks on the quartz. Circa 1850 H. 45 cm - W. 30 cm - D. 23 cm
