Voyages and Adventures of Captain Hatteras by Jules Verne. I - Lot 176
Voyages and Adventures of Captain Hatteras by Jules Verne. Illustrations by Riou. Paris, Collection Hetzel, sd (ca 1912 for the body of the book, and ca 1916 for the hardback).
Large double in-8°, polychrome Hetzel-Hachette boards "?with an elephant title in the cartouche". Hetzel interior. No mention of binder. Gilt edges. Blue endpapers. Six color hors-texts. Printed by Belin.
Note the unprecedented quality of the color hors-texts, printed here - this is the last Hetzel reprint of the novel - in several very vivid colors (they were previously printed in one shade, usually blue or bistre).
A very fine copy.
