Alabaster plaque carved in high relief with polychrome and gilding highlights representing the Flagellation of Christ. Nottingham, second half of the 15th century Height : 38 cm - Width : 21.5 cm Dimensions with the wooden frame : 65 X 35 cm Tympanum and wooden frame from the end of the 19th century (restorations, breaks and small lacks, several screws of fixing) (several restoration with the tinted plaster on the members) Two plates, with a similar composition, are preserved in the Musée de Cluny (Cl. 19346 and 347). This one has the particularity of showing the head of Christ turned to the left towards one of his four executioners wearing a hood in the fashion of the first half of the 15th century.
